They differ in fare and in journey time, so the choice comes down to <strong>where you are heading, when you arrive, and how much luggage you have<\/strong>.<\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This article lays out the options for Narita and for Haneda. The links are in the sections below.<\/p><h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">First, check which airport you are landing at<\/h2><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Tokyo has two airports, and <strong>they sit at very different distances from the center<\/strong>.<\/p><ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Narita Airport<\/strong> \u2014 in Chiba Prefecture. Around an hour to central Tokyo<\/li><li><strong>Haneda Airport<\/strong> \u2014 inside Tokyo. Roughly 15 to 30 minutes to the center<\/li><\/ul><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The same phrase \u201cTokyo airport\u201d covers both, so check your ticket before you plan anything else.<\/p><h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">From Narita into the city<\/h2><h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Skyliner and the Narita Express<\/h3><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If speed is what matters, there are two paid limited express trains.<\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <strong>Skyliner (Keisei)<\/strong> runs from Narita Airport Terminal 2 Station to Nippori in <strong>as little as 36 minutes<\/strong>. At 160 km\/h it is the fastest conventional-line train in Japan, and every seat is reserved. It brings you to Ueno or Nippori, where you change to the Yamanote Line. Its advantage is that it runs through to Tokyo, Shinagawa, Shibuya, Shinjuku, and Yokohama with no change of train. It has luggage storage and power outlets. (Source: as above)<\/p><h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Trains with no limited express supplement<\/h3><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <strong>Access Express (Keisei)<\/strong> runs through to Shinagawa, Shimbashi, and Nihombashi, and <strong>requires no limited express supplement<\/strong>. The <strong>Keisei Main Line Rapid Limited Express and Limited Express<\/strong> trains go via Funabashi, also with no supplement. The Access Express does run through to Shinagawa, Shimbashi, and Nihombashi without a change, which can be easier when you are carrying a lot.<\/p><h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Airport Limousine buses<\/h3><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They run to major stations and hotels. Your bags go in the hold and you stay in one seat, which helps if you have a large suitcase or would rather not change trains. You can send the bags ahead instead.<\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Keikyu runs a <strong>same-day baggage delivery and storage service at Haneda Airport Terminal 3 Station<\/strong>. (Source: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.haneda-tokyo-access.com\/en\/\">Keikyu news<\/a>, retrieved September 8, 2026)<\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you arrive before check-in, or want to walk around after checking out, another option is a luggage storage service such as <a href=\"https:\/\/go.bounce.com\/ZHUSHIHUISHE70931851\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"sponsored noopener noreferrer\">Bounce<\/a>, which uses spare room in shops around the city.<\/p><h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Straight from the airport to where you are staying<\/h2><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A fixed-fare car service is another option. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.airport-taxi.tokyo\/en?via=hgj\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"sponsored noopener noreferrer\">Airport Taxi (Tokyo)<\/a> runs door to door between Narita or Haneda and your accommodation, which helps if you land late at night or early in the morning, travel as a family with a lot of bags, or would rather not change trains.<\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Train tickets are also sold through travel booking sites such as <a href=\"https:\/\/affiliate.klook.com\/sl\/2O5T7py\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"sponsored noopener noreferrer\">Klook<\/a>. Prices and collection methods differ between sellers, so compare against the operators&rsquo; own sites before you decide.<\/p><h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Prayer at the airport, and meals once you arrive<\/h2><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Both airports have prayer spaces.
