From Hotel Dining to Halal Burgers
From anniversary dinners to a casual bite, French cuisine is a classic choice for a special meal — and in Japan it comes in many styles, from courses by an award-winning chef to easygoing halal burgers.
In Osaka, a French and Italian restaurant inside a hotel is led by a chef who trained in France and took third place at the 2003 Prix Culinaire International Pierre Taittinger world championship, serving what it describes as modern and classic French cooking. Halal dishes are described as available with advance reservation, and halal meat and seasonings and vegetarian options are registered.
In Tokyo, an all-day dining room inside a hotel is described as doing its best to accommodate dietary restrictions when consulted in advance, with vegetarian options registered. And in Asakusa, a restaurant described as a new branch of a popular halal burger shop in Ningyocho is registered as certified halal and Muslim-owned, pork-free, serving no alcoholic drinks, with vegetarian options.
The Italian and Western pages are also worth a look. Use the Halal Gourmet Japan map to combine restaurants and prayer places along your route.
