Pottery Towns and Open Plains in Northwest Kyushu
Saga, in the northwest of Kyushu, is dotted with pottery towns including Arita, Imari and Karatsu. Rice is grown across its wide plains, and the reconstructed remains of a Yayoi-period settlement can be visited here.
The prefecture faces two very different seas, the shallow Ariake Sea and the open Genkai Sea, and has hot spring areas inland. Walking through the pottery towns and visiting the kilns is a trip in itself.
Halal Gourmet Japan features venues and prayer places across Japan. If Saga is part of your itinerary, check the map for what is nearby and plan meals and prayer times around your route.
