Halal Gourmet Japan lists seven restaurants and shops at Narita and Haneda airports, and both airports also have prayer spaces in their terminals (as of October 2026).

This guide is for travelers who want to eat or pray at the airport, whether right after landing or before a flight. It shows which terminal and floor each restaurant and prayer space is on. The restaurant descriptions are based on each restaurant’s listing page.

Narita: restaurants in Terminals 1 and 2

Narita Airport has three listed restaurants, serving soba, udon and curry.

On the 5th floor of Terminal 1, Kineya Mugimaru Narita Airport Terminal 1 serves soba and udon. Its listing page says it is halal certified, uses halal meat and halal seasonings, and has a dedicated kitchen and tableware.

Soji-bo Narita international airport Terminal2, another soba and udon restaurant, and La Toque, a curry restaurant, are both on the 4th floor of Terminal 2. Soji-bo’s listing shows the same halal arrangements as Kineya Mugimaru. La Toque’s main dish is Japanese curry, and its kitchen is halal certified. It does not serve alcohol. Its bright, casual space also works as a café.

As of October 2026, we have no listed restaurants in Terminal 3.

Narita: two prayer spaces in each terminal

Each of Narita’s three terminals has two prayer spaces, one before the security check and one after it. The ones after security are in the international departure area.

After you land, or before you go through security, use the pre-security prayer space. Once you are through security, use the post-security one.

Haneda: Turkish food and bento

Haneda Airport has four listed restaurants and shops.

Mrs Istanbul, in Upper Deck Tokyo on the 3rd floor of Terminal 2, serves kebab dishes cooked by a Turkish chef. It also offers stretchy Turkish ice cream, Turkish bread and yogurt, and sells the “Halal sora-ben,” a bento for Muslim travelers. Its listing page says it is halal certified and Muslim-owned and has vegetarian options. It does not serve alcohol.

KEBAB STAND, created by Mrs Istanbul, is a takeout kebab shop on the 4th floor of Terminal 3 (its listing gives the address as the International Terminal, 4F). It is also halal certified and has vegetarian options.

Soraben Koubou has shops in the 2nd-floor lobbies of Terminals 1 and 2. Their listing pages show halal options.

Haneda: prayer spaces in Terminals 2 and 3

At Haneda, the prayer spaces are in Terminals 2 and 3, and each one has facilities for ablution before prayer.

The prayer space on the 3rd floor of Terminal 2 is before the security check and is open to anyone. As of October 2026, we have no listed prayer spaces in Terminal 1.

Near the airport, there are also prayer spaces on the 2nd floor of Haneda Airport Garden and on the 2nd floor of Zone J at Haneda Innovation City.

Other ways to search

To get from the airport into the city, see our guide to traveling from Narita or Haneda into central Tokyo. If you want to pray outside the airport, our guide to finding a mosque or prayer space in Japan can help. For Chiba and Tokyo, where the airports are, see these pages.

Before you go

Details on our listings may change depending on the restaurant or the airport. Please check opening hours and prayer space locations on the linked pages and on signs at the airport.

Each listing page describes the restaurant’s halal arrangements (certification, ingredients, kitchen, and so on). Please read the listing and decide whether it meets your own standards.

To wrap up

At Narita, you can have soba, udon or curry in Terminals 1 and 2. At Haneda, you can have Turkish food such as kebab in Terminals 2 and 3. Narita has prayer spaces before and after security in every terminal, and Haneda has them in Terminals 2 and 3. Whether you are arriving or flying home, once you know your terminal, open the pages for the restaurants and prayer spaces nearby and check where they are.
